Weird dreams for Halloween
Today was marked by some pretty odd dreams that I had this morning. Basically, I had an episode of McGyver running through my head, and I was somewhat of an omniscient observer. Granted, it was pretty cool to be seeing McGyver personally save half the world using a two inch piece of string and some wits, but it was still slightly odd that I ran an old episode in my head. Perhaps my brain is wirelessly connected to the local WB channel or something of the sort. As for the rest of the day, it’s been a slow Thursday, which is a rarity that I have enjoyed.
Jobs, movies and the like
Today was an interesting day, marked by the fact that we watched a movie called “A Touch of Evil” in my film class. I have to say that I can hardly recommend that anyone watches it. Orson Wells directed the movie and it was about a corrupt police officer who was a good detective. Needless to say, it was not only a depressing movie, it made me feel like doing nothing for the rest of the night. So, if anyone ever says to you, “Hey, you know what you need? You need to watch ‘A Touch of Evil!’,” you should run in the other direction.
AOL and ICQ merging
Cnet has an article on the merging of the AOL and ICQ instant messaging networks. I guess in the latest version of the software, you can input an ICQ number in your AOL buddy list and see the status of someone on the ICQ network. The best part of this article? Microsoft is complaining about unfair market exploitation, something that they would never do, right?
Web server down today
Well, today’s events were marked by the fact that, as I got up this morning, I realized that my web server had gone down. After investigating the matter, I found that the database that the web site runs on was under maintenance all day today, and came back up around 3:00 this afternoon, so I was happy.
In other news, just a standard day at classes and nothing special happening today. I have decided that I am going to put up a new poll, so check it out, and cast your vote. Hopefully, as I start to post more logs, people will come back to this site. Once again, I encourage you to submit news of your own for posting as well.
Long time, no writing
My parents alerted me to the fact that it has been about a week since I have posted any type of log onto my website, so I thought it would be a good idea to give an update. Hopefully, as I get more time, I will actually try and write more stuff down on this website. And, if I really feel proactive, I’ll update it to the latest version of the code. There’s still a small problem in the forums, when you post a topic or reply, an error code is generated, and I haven’t been able to nail down exactly what is causing it. So, one of these days, I’ll update to the latest code, and hope that fixes the problem. I have half a mind to do it tonight, but it all depends upon how much time I will have.
I’m back!
Huah! Hrumph! Wheeeeeee…(Feedback) Hey, is this thing on? Tap…Tap…Tap. Uh Um. Sorry I haven’t written for a little while. I’ve been out of town up in Door County, enjoying Marquette’s mid-semester break. And, I have to say, it was a very much needed break after all of the tests and things that everyone had over the past few weeks. In fact, I actually got to catch up a little on lost sleep. Imagine that! But, Door County was great. Lori, Jon, Megan and I went up for two days and enjoyed seeing the leaves turn, seeing the lake, tasting some wine and saying “Double Slug – Red… Old one!” But I digress…
