Bedtime

I’m tired, so it’s now off to bed for me. However, before I hop off to my evening nap, I would like to get some user input about the riddles that I have been posting on the site. I know that as I add new stories to the site, the riddle for the week does not stay completely at the top of the list. I was toying around with the idea of having a section in the forums for the riddles, where people could post more information and see other postings easier than if the riddles were posted as story items.

Let me know what your thoughts are about this, or if I should continue posting riddles. I haven’t had any answers yet, so post a comment to this story and let me know what you think!

Updates to the website

So, in regards to the earlier post, I have updated the submit news link, so that it uses a much nicer, more slick editor for submitting news. Of course, it only works with Internet Exploerer 5.5 and up, and that is where the problem was. If the person didn’t have that requirement, the website would yell at them and then not let them submit news. Not that it’s too big of a deal because no one ever submits anything to the site, but it was bothering me.

Blogging… continued

Since I have decided to keep blogging, because that’s what I originally set up this website to be for, here’s a recap of today. It was a pretty fun day, overall. In my photography class, we had one of the photojournalists from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel come and talk to us about his job and gave us a pretty good tutorial on photo enhancement from within Photoshop. Of course, because I am not a photoshop junkie, I use Paint Shop Pro. I have finally figured out how to retouch my pictures there, instead of having to trek over to the other end of campus and use Photoshop.

The Global Internet

I am always amazed at how global the Internet is and how, within a matter of days, people have linked to the content on your site. I have now been getting a few hits from some other people’s blogging sites. I guess at least part of the stuff on this website is getting read, even if it’s only by people who I don’t know.

In other news, my friends are too smart. Both the picture of the week and the riddle were guessed too quickly. I’m not sure if the person who guessed the riddle did so legitimately or did a search on the internet to find the answer. I hope they actually knew the answer without searching.

More actual Nick Notes

I have spent the past few days composing a new psalm, and now have posted it up in the projects section. It’s the wording to Psalm 102 for this Thursday. We didn’t have a psalm in Gather to sing, so I decided that I would write one instead. I’m excited to sing it this Thursday night at mass!

Weekend sum-up

This past weekend was a lot of fun. After going out for dinner on Valentine’s day with some friends, I spent Saturday night enjoying dinner to celebrate more friends’ birthdays. So, it was definitely a busy weekend. Finally, on Sunday, I spent most of the day trying to do some reading and getting homework done. I also had some time to get out of the apartment and play Mario Party over at Carol’s apartment. Thanks, Carol!

Today, it’s lots of homework/reading this morning, then off to meetings and classes this afternoon. Have a great week!
