Vexilla Regis

Vexilla Regis

The hymn in the video, Vexilla Regis, was composed for a procession of a relic of the true cross as it as brought to the monastery of Saint-Croix in Poitiers. It is a gregorian chant that can be used on Good Friday when processing the blessed sacrament from the altar of repose into the church for the Good Friday service. Enjoy listening to this beautiful music, as we await the resurrection of Jesus on Easter Sunday.

Little Red Riding Hood

Little Red Riding Hood

I was alerted to this video today by Jeff Geerling, who runs the LOLSaints website. The video below is a visual re-interpretation of the story of Little Red Riding Hood. It’s a bit geeky, of course, but that’s why I like it.

What I’m interested in is how the visuals were produced. They are high-quality animated vectors and they look really great.

Fun for April Fool's Day

Fun for April Fool’s Day

I saw this video on the Curt Jester’s website. It’s a recording of the show “What’s my line?” when Bishop Fulton Sheen appeared on the program. Archbishop Fulton Sheen had one of the most popular shows on television in its early days, teaching the Catholic faith and getting enormous ratings. He truly was a pioneer when it came to engaging modern media.

Christopher West on Katy Perry

Christopher West on Katy Perry

I just saw this on Christopher West’s Facebook fan page. He posted a video a few months ago about some of the music that Katy Perry has been singing and took a look at how we react to it as a culture and as Christians. It’s a very interesting video, especially the last minute, where he brings it all together and talks about whether or not we should “shelter” our children from the world. If you have a free 10 minutes, I definitely recommend giving this video a watch.

Our Digital World

Our Digital World

I was checking out some sites this evening when I came across the Youtube video below. It’s a video about all the technological advances that are happening in our world and then poses the question “What does it all mean?”

For me, it all means that we can take a step back and rejoice that, as humans, we were able to create such powerful and amazing machines. In fact, I think it’s a miracle and it’s something that should remind us to take the time to thank God for the gifts that He has given us. As this Sunday comes to a close, I challenge you to ask yourself, “What have I thanked God for this past week?” and then ask what you look forward to thanking God for this week.

Dodgeball at Nativity 2009

Dodgeball at Nativity 2009

Nativity’s youth group is hosting a dodgeball night this Friday, March 27. They will be playing against St. Michael the Archangel’s youth group. As part of preparing for the event, Brian and I sat down and did some editing of a promo video that will show to the kids that evening. The video is designed to highlight “spiritual gifts” that people have in dodgeball.
