Happy Weekend!
My palm pilot came back in the mail today, which I didn’t expect. I hope it doesn’t break again. I’ve got a few precautions in place to make sure that it doesn’t happen again. Right now, I’m in my office waiting for a meeting to start. A whole bunch of youth ministers around work are planning on putting together a proposal for a skate park in town. I’m looking forward to seeing what we come up with. As for this weekend, I hope that you all have a great time. I’m planning on taking the time to relax and recharge.

I must have put about 300 miles on my car this weekend! On Friday, I spent much of my time running errands in the neighboring state where I live. It wasn’t too far of a drive, I just had a lot of places to go. The day hit a high for me when I was able to take in the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit, which will be in the area for the next 90 days. Given my penchant for wanting to read everything in an exhibit and work slowly through it, I’m glad that I went by myself. I was able to spend about two hours looking at everything, including some original coins found at Qumran, where the scrolls...

Yesterday has to have been one of the busiest days in quite a long time. I got up at 4am, partially because I couldn’t sleep, and partially because I had a lot to do before driving into work at 7am. So, I was busy working from 4am until around 7pm yesterday. Yes, I know that Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest, but for some reason, I had a lot of masses and meetings all get crammed together in the span of 14 hours. It was quite nuts. Finally, last night, went to bed around 9pm and woke up at 8 this morning. I didn’t know that I needed that much sleep! Hopefully, I’ll be...

Today was the last day of school for the kids at work. We had lots of holiday parties, food, cookies, candy and an Advent Angel gift party. I took some pretty cool pictures like the one to the right. They are a few plastic toppers put in the cupcakes that I thought looked pretty neat. On the youth ministry front, we have also been having Christmas parties in the youth room, complete with white elephant gift exchanges and a sock competition. This past Monday night, one of the junior high boys, who will remain nameless, won the smelliest sock competition because he did not change his socks or...

It’s been getting cold here over the past few days. Today boasts a high of 25 degrees, which is a far cry from the 60 degree temperatures that we were seeing the same day a week ago. This past week has seen a lot of snow and ice dropped on the city, making for fun driving conditions. I cut out early on Wednesday afternoon so that I could make it home safely. Thursday I stayed in all day and put together my monthly newsletter. I hope to have that mailed out tomorrow. In other news, I’m getting excited for the holidays. I went and played piano yesterday for the annual homes tour in...
